Writer, economist and teacher, he co-founded the The New Canadian,
a paper that acted as a "life-line" for the Japanese community evacuated
in February '42 to so-called 'protective areas'. He describes his time
with Saskatchewan Premiers Douglas and Lloyd as "at...the most exciting,
and stimulating period.
"I think there is something in the Japanese value system that is important:
discipline, obligation, responsibility, hard work, all of those things...loyalty."
