Helen Rogers
b. 1906, New York, New York

Her studies of nutrition at the Pratt Institute (including a brief internship at the Philadelphia General), and Columbia University evolved into life long interest in physical and mental health. Married l930 Lex Bachert (d.'67); spends summers in the Thousand Islands; re-married '72 Leo Rogers (d.'97), a respected engraver (advertising) and an art collector; and moved to Sarasota; Leo was the founder of the Sarasota Opera, and Helen remains a guiding light on its board.

Her belief is that "being here is a time to learn...each person has an obligation, not only to himself or herself, but to the world in which they are living" has earned her the love and respect of all who know her.
