[Lab] Higher speed (8.0 Mbps) I/O interface with PC

Does anybody know how to get 8 Mbps into a PC from a relatively dumb 
circuit?

I have a Xilinx FPGA development board, and I'd like to get data into and 
out of it at these high speeds without having to do the work of setting up 
a soft CPU or an Ethernet MAC.
