0:07

very nice people very nice people

0:10

thank you for bringing this artwork to

0:13

us we are really having fun and

0:15

remembering our old Childhood Days

0:30

the reality that we’re faced with is

0:33

that seniors of all backgrounds face

0:35

isolation and loneliness which leads to

0:37

mental and physical health degradation

0:40

and for seniors from different cultural

0:42

backgrounds like India and Pakistani Sri

0:45

Lankan these seniors are added

0:47

especially high risk because they need

0:49

art and programs and language services

0:52

that are relevant to them which is why

0:55

we do the program in so many different

0:56

languages and why we teach so many

0:58

different art forms because people want

1:01

to relate to the music and dance and

1:04

artwork that they grew up with

1:05

[Music]

1:09

I’m quite delighted to make this idea

1:12

this is good for the mental disease

1:16

dementia like Memories laws yeah if you

1:18

can keep yourself busy in like this such

1:21

activities it is

1:33

[Music]

1:37

you know the power of a workshop like

1:40

this is we’re using so many elements

1:42

we’re using the physical movement we’re

1:45

using the auditory so we’re listening to

1:47

the music and then we’re using all the

1:48

coordination between the music and our

1:51

bodies which is so powerful and it’s so

1:53

so important to get everybody up on

1:54

their feet and exercising and what

1:56

better way to do that than through dance

1:59

close your eyes

2:02

[Music]

2:05

most of the places which I have done

2:07

these programs or I do these programs

2:09

they have instantaneous

2:11

relief and their faces look different

2:14

afterwards even today after this session

2:16

you

2:17

and that is my reward that’s my prize

2:20

seniors have spent the whole life

2:22

you know doing stuff for the children

2:25

for the society and all that and we owe

2:27

it to them we owe this to them

2:31

it was very nice we had a kind of a

2:33

meditation type thing various ways of

2:36

keeping at peace to ourselves because

2:38

senior people are having some trouble

2:40

sometimes you know sleeping or having

2:43

peace because of the they’re maybe alone

2:45

or lonely sometimes for this kind of you

2:48

know it’s like an extension of trying to

2:51

do some job of relaxing and all that

2:54

Michelle

2:57

I felt very relaxed very different

3:04

and I felt that

3:07

is

3:11

I was just feeling so relaxed but I feel

3:15

good

3:20

[Music]

3:23

thank you

3:25

just want to say congratulations to my

3:27

strategy for developing such an amazing

3:30

program for the community and for

3:32

keeping it going for so many years and

3:34

not only that for making it better every

3:35

single year they are so wonderful at

3:38

taking in feedback listening and then

3:39

making it better every year so I can’t

3:41

wait to see where this program goes and

3:43

where it takes me and all the

3:44

participants who are part of this

3:45

program
