>>Ankita: Hi guys, this is Ankita Music
and you guys are watching MAD.

>>All: [shouting] Monster World.
>>Male Band Member 1: Woo!

0:12

[Singing in another language]

0:48

>>Male Band Member 2: We wanted to engage the crowd

0:49

by having a little bit of East,

0:50

a little bit of the West.

0:52

We mashed it up, we brought it down slow,
we took it up fast.

0:55

We try to bring the old, the new
and then some of the Western in

0:59

to actually collaborate with the crowd.

1:01

We as performers,
we love all styles of music,

1:04

but we got to make sure the crowd is
listening to us

1:06

and they want to engage with us.

1:07

So we saw everyone bumping, we saw
everyone actually moving their feet

1:10

and that’s what got us going.

1:12

And Ankita chose an amazing
list of songs to make sure that happens.

1:15

>>Ankita: Our musicians were amazing,
like they made a really good job…

1:17

>>Male Band Member 1: All of them were amazing.

1:18

>>Ankit: All of them were amazing.

>>Ankita: I’m a dentist.
But then I took a 360 degree turn.

1:41

I wanted to follow my passion
and here I am singing.

1:44

This is the first year I am performing.

1:45

I’ve been watching BollwoodMonster
Mashup for last 5 years.

1:48

It’s been 5 years since I’m in Canada.

1:50

I was looking at BollywoodMonster
Mashup, I was kind of um…

1:53

fantasize.
I really wanted to participate there,

1:55

so I went up to the crew and told them
I really wanted to participate

1:58

and that’s how they told me that
this is the application process

2:00

and then you can apply as an artist.

2:01

And I applied.

2:03

>>Ankita: There’s no shortcut to

2:27

any profession, right.

2:28

You need to work really hard.

2:29

As a musician, marketing and um

2:32

like promoting yourself as an artist
is really important,

2:34

besides working hard towards
singing and all.

2:37

So we had a hybrid performance today.

2:38

I think we’ve seen live singing
with live musicians

2:41

a lot of times,
but we have not seen live singing with

2:44

live DJ, and the whole pair playing
together all of like — so we used a kind of

2:47

hybrid performance today.

2:48

We had all the B Punjabi numbers.

2:51

[Music]

>>Ankita: I’m from India and uh

3:21

I’m from Rajasthan.

3:22

Back home also it’s like multi-cultural,
we have

3:24

so many religions out there,
but when I came here

3:26

it’s also like Mississauga also multi-cultural life.

3:29

So it feels amazing to be a part of

3:31

BollywoodMonster Mashup which brings
up all the different cultures together

3:34

and bring up artists from different culture, and they are performing there.

3:36

So it’s a wonderful experience.
