today we are rehearsing for the

0:17

Bollywood monster Orchestra so we’re

0:19

doing covers and mashups of Bollywood

0:22

songs with famous disco songs

0:26

the rehearsal is going really well I

0:27

mean every year it goes really smoothly

0:30

because of our really good at organizing

0:33

things so it’s been it’s been really

0:34

nice to come in here and have everyone

0:36

sort of on the same page we’re just

0:37

going to run every song Once to try to

0:40

catch up on time and then once we catch

0:41

up then we’ll go back

0:43

one of the most difficult things that I

0:46

had to learn for this rehearsal was some

0:48

of the parts that are not in English so

0:50

I’m saying but to me zadelf and the way

0:52

I remember this was I was thinking of

0:55

the word butter in English and then it

0:57

just came together so I kind of think of

0:58

words that you know that I know that

1:01

relate to the Hindi songs that I need to

1:02

sing songs sung along with the Hindi

1:05

song and at the same time we had to

1:07

synchronize that was the most difficult

1:10

part right

1:14

[Music]

1:16

blue

1:24

[Music]

1:29

you know the whole Groove and the way

1:33

it’s synchronizing and the way we

1:36

merging the Hindi with the western song

1:39

is Amazing learning the different genres

1:42

and then having it flow in together has

1:45

has been a challenge because I’d say

1:48

it’s it’s the blend at which you got to

1:50

bring in both genres together and I’d

1:52

say it’s been very well executed and

1:54

very well drafted I think the most fun

1:56

is is just hearing new music I know

1:58

something about Indian classical music

2:00

you know something about disco but I

2:02

haven’t heard Bollywood songs before I

2:05

never investigated that before there’s a

2:07

great effect mashed up together it’s

2:08

beautiful

2:13

[Music]

2:17

[Applause]

2:23

[Music]

2:26

my favorite composition that I learned

2:28

is the dancing queen I had so much fun

2:30

singing it I’m singing the chorus I got

2:32

the part that goes ah

2:36

it’s just so fun I feel like that part

2:38

everyone can sing along to my favorite

2:40

song is probably the mashup with Earth

2:42

Wind and Fire September because I love

2:44

that song

2:47

what was the question

2:51

it’s been really fun because you have

2:54

all the familiar tunes that you know and

2:55

love but then with this new introduction

2:57

of Bollywood music it makes this

2:59

beautiful new style of music that I just

3:01

I’m really a fan of for me it’s like

3:03

getting back with old friends and the

3:05

people that I’m working with for the

3:06

first time I’m sure will be uh old

3:08

friends very soon

3:09

[Music]

3:16

we have all worked together before we

3:18

all belong in the same lacking community

3:20

and we all know each other really really

3:21

well so when the giggo Queens the Jenna

3:24

Lee and Riya they reached out I think it

3:26

was just a very natural

3:28

thing that happens it’s just pretty

3:30

organically Bollywood was in my strong

3:32

suit so it was something that I was

3:34

excited to kind of expand my knowledge

3:36

in and get used to so we had a couple

3:38

rehearsals we had a choreography

3:39

prepared by the giggle Queen it was a

3:41

collaborative process so we were working

3:43

together on creating different movements

3:44

and we’re really able to expand on our

3:47

skill set of both freestyle and

3:49

choreography which I think is really

3:50

exciting to hear it with the live like

3:53

the live band actually like made it more

3:56

exciting sounds a lot better than just

3:59

the audio tracks

4:02

that would be such a big event it’s not

4:05

um

4:06

just the size of it to be in Celebration

4:08

Square where there are you know hundreds

4:11

maybe thousands of people around it’ll

4:14

be great absolutely wonderful and also

4:16

reflects the people that live in

4:18

Mississauga so it’s really cool music is

4:21

not about you know where you’re coming

4:23

from

4:24

what language you’ve

4:27

looked it’s the notes It’s the Rhythm

4:29

it’s the temple which would bring

4:31

everyone together it’s it’s just so

4:35

it’s just so wonderful

4:38

[Music]

4:45

[Music]

4:47

and we’re so excited it’s like all

4:50

coming to fruition and we’re pumped to

4:52

go and save yeah it’s been a long time

4:53

since we’ve been in front of a real

4:55

audience so we’re very excited to have

4:58

that exchange of energy with everybody

5:00

it’s gonna be so much fun to be up on

5:03

that stage I’ve actually never performed

5:04

here so I’m super excited

5:06

so for those of you who are sitting down

5:09

don’t be so lazy come on get up off your

5:12

seats get on your feet let’s come let’s

5:15

do this

5:24

they have

5:25

[Music]

5:38

it’s great super responsive obviously

5:40

it’s packed out there and uh we got him

5:43

going we got him on their feet we got

5:45

him singing dancing cheering it was

5:48

really really awesome because performing

5:50

in front of this much of crowd makes a

5:52

humongous difference we can’t wait till

5:54

next year my favorite part of the

5:56

concert was the exact last song for YMCA

5:59

everyone was up everyone was jumping

6:01

everyone was happy the same here I just

6:03

loved it when we got to the last song

6:05

it’s the time to disco YMCA you turn

6:08

around the whole crowd was standing the

6:10

whole crowd was dancing there was so

6:12

much energy it was phenomenal I can’t

6:14

wait for next year next year it’s gonna

6:15

be 80s it’s gonna be another Banger uh I

6:18

can’t wait to do it again honestly stay

6:19

tuned for more awesome matchups
