The participating artists bring new and recent works to an ongoing and important conversation in modern and contemporary art. Since Immanuel Kant’s “Critique of Aesthetic Judgement,” art has historically been associated with the purpose of evoking subjectivity and emotion. The type of emotion and the purpose of that emotion is a fraught terrain for contemporary art making. This exhibition will situate the discussion in the genre of media arts, as well as through perspectives of artists from developing countries and the global south (particularly Latin America and its diaspora).

and work of curating is assertive and

work of translation and it’s living
0:12
exhibition know it every exhibition is
0:15
different I think the work of
0:16
installation is very important because
0:18
it will never take the same form again
0:20
and I think that that plays a lot with
0:23
the artists work and how they love their
0:25
each other I think left the purpose for
0:27
this was to create a more than intimate
0:30
space for those experiences to be
0:32
highlighted the works that I connect to
0:34
as a curator a lot are you know more
0:39
directly and in many ways it’s my bike
0:41
enough for makers I think that I also
0:43
because I SIDS boring person one does a
0:46
lot of some reflection that you know
0:50
that doesn’t happen so much when you’re
0:53
not home right I think that the context
0:57
of coming to Apollo linked to a new
1:01
culture makes you be inside of your hand
1:03
and in a more the more reflection point
1:06
is a private compliment then he being so

girly airport now dans le viet ok CST to
1:19
go see whens and get it dominated and
1:21
all the Robinson me huh no I just wasn’t
1:27
even there all in the catalog which is
1:31
why this very fine you can ever today

1:41
you’re not in focus that we can serve a

2:10
did not really mean it I also felt it
2:14
was important to include Christine
2:16
Nipton custies piece not because of you
2:19
know his status as an artist or anything
2:22
but because the piece engages directly
2:25
with how emotions and silver bars are
2:30
represented and I think that a lot of
2:33
stereotypes regarding female behavior
2:35
and female characters are need to be
2:39
questions no and I think that this piece
2:42
allows that to be to be sort of settled
2:46
as a stage in order to to perceive that
2:48
to receive that you know they it’s
2:50
always women who are crying in some soap
2:53
operas there are always the weaker
2:55
characters they’re like you know they
2:58
always have to be beautiful they always
2:59
have to have like fitness control so I
3:02
think that taking that genre and
3:07
critiquing it or putting it on stage for
3:10
it to be critiqued i think is very
3:12
important so i think
3:24
you
