R&B stands for “Rock & Bhangra and everything in between”. It is the most versatile southasian band in Canada with over 20 years of experience in performing with the best artists in some of the best concerts in Canada and abroad. It consists of a strong team of seasoned musicians who are well known for their expertise, versatility and musicality. Led by Founder & Ace Keyboardist Asad Khan, the band always manages to surpass expectations with their outstanding performances. Apart from being exceptional at all forms of southasian music, they’re also well versed in other genres like Rock, Pop, Latin, Jazz, Country etc.

That’s the specialty
of my band.

I used to call everyone come and jam with me, I have concerts.

If you cannot, I’m gonna try to teach you.

I tried like almost like 15 drummers,

uh, 14 bass guitarist and

And after that I find the
right people.

You need to be dedicated to music.

If you’re a true lover of music and you

So I suffered so many things when I came.

Well I was a superstar in Pakistan,

when I came here, in Canada,

and I called some people –”uh I am Asad Khan I used to play with [inaudible]

over there”.

They said ”oh you

have to give us some
promo for free”.

These kind of struggle I did, I did

for like almost one year.

And after that when people learn uh

that I’m good in my music then

the journey begins.

Finally something is happening
now.

And I’m doing my own online shows [inaudible]

some local singers, some singer from Pakistan, some singer from India.

to help me out to entertain people.

Whenever I finish my show,

I have like almost like 3,000 comments.

I just watch them

and I just read them and
I’m happy after that.

When they acknowledge me

then they say that ”oh my god you’re doing so good

uh in these circumstances you’re trying to entertain us

and uh thank you so much”.

I had a good time as well I had a good life.

I was a full-time musician over there and

every month I have to go abroad to perform

like Australia and Dubai.

with all of the artists from Pakistan because it’s easy

for them to take us

to those destinations

but from Canada it’s hard to go.

The process begins with

just a thought on the actual
production vision right,

whereas you know Asad is he’s very brilliant minded and when it comes to

So it typically starts off
with a singer

where okay you know what this is the song we want to do, this is the tune.

Then it would go to Asad.
He would actually lay a, you know,

a composition down,

uh the actual production,
just um

just rough stems and then he would send it over to me.

I’d put in my field, my magic, and

so on and so forth for the other musicians.

It comes back, the entire group would listen to it, give their feedbacks.

Whatever needs to get changed

it will go back and forth get get changed and and so on and so forth right.

It’s a longer process

but basically that’s what, how we do it right now just given the circumstances.

If I have a good audience there
and they’re enjoying the music,
