>>Sarah: And I just can’t believe when I
looked into the audience like
I couldn’t see a space of ground there’s
like heads, heads, heads, heads.
I was like whoa.
>>Matharoo Bros: Last year we got the
chance to play with Aishwarya and
the other two headliners so for us it’s great
to, you know, get that avenue out there
to meet these you know up-and-coming stars,
and it helps us grow as well as artists.
And you know the collaboration between
East and West is always great.
So it gives us a chance to do something
that would be typically impossible.
>>Sarah: I just find it so fun to practice
intuition, you know,
audience interaction and you guys have
screens on the side
with people tweeting.
So there’s so much, you know, involvement
with the audience in the crowd
so it just gets musicians like me
hyped up on stage.
So it’s –it’s unbelievable and incredible.
>>Harish: I mean it was awesome I mean this is my first time
I’m performing in Canada.
I mean I just got here six weeks back — six
so this…I mean out of the world…
I’m feeling yeah.
I mean I didn’t — I didn’t know that we
have a such a huge platform out here.
>>Sonia: Working with MonstrARTity has
They’re super upbeat,
they’re really enthusiastic,
they’re such hard workers and so
this festival is being run
>>Nick: They’re very quick at communicating,
and they’re on top of their game.
As an artist,
that’s what you want, right,
is when you have so many people coming
in, everyone wants their own time,
but they’re able to designate your
Whether it be for sound check,
whether it be for your set times
they’re very professional
which is what I love the most.
>>Univox 1: So we had everything we
could possibly dream of to…to be helped.
>>Univox 2: It’s very organized.
It was very, very organized.
>>Haviah: So for me, the ability to work
South Asian artists, be invited to perform
at a South Asian festival,
the largest one in Canada might I add,
it’s super, super, super incredible to…
to fit in, uh to be…
accepted into, for people to
be excited for what it is that I have to say.
>>Brandon: It was kind of a shock at first,
singing Hindi is rather uh…
There are a lot of intricacies that I was not
>>Greg: The structures are really
unique and uh…
there’s a lot of Eastern influence that’s
than the background that I have
in that there’ll be like an extra bar,
there’ll be extra beats.
Sonically there’s a lot of Eastern stuff
which is much different than a lot of the
music that I normally play.
>>Lindsay: For me the joy is always
networking with other great musicians like
the rest of the the BMM orchestra team.
