Ask any Canadian to name our national passion, and 9 out of 10 will say it’s hockey. However, the surprising truth is that more Canadians sing in choirs than play hockey. Choral music is something we as a nation are passionate about – and yet this very fact remains outside of our collective consciousness. The Amadeus Choir has a chance to leverage this idea during this Covid-19 shutdown time. In doing so, we can remind our choristers, audience, donors, grantors, and the general public how important choral singing is to Canadians.
