Blueprints for the Afrofuture with Joshua Ngenda

2023

A brief recap from the second iteration of Blueprints for the Afrofuture – an AGGV program curated by local film and dance artist Kemi Craig.

On July 30, 2022, Joshua Ngenda took over our Instagram account for the morning and invited the community into his studio to watch a durational performance and experience an artist’s view of the collage making process. Folks were encouraged to tune in with their favourite Saturday morning beverage and invited to pop in and out of the live session at any time.

The Art Gallery of Greater Victoria is located on the traditional territory of the lək̓ʷəŋən speaking peoples, today known as the Esquimalt and Songhees First Nations. We extend our gratitude and appreciation for the opportunity to live and work on this territory.
