all good points. i tried before lowering the bed all the way to the ground as well without success. if all fails, shimming it is.

Trick is once you focus, move the focus gauge to the corners of your work area to make sure you're level enough..If not, shim the work piece or check under the tray...
The fixture is badly designed on this machine for this problem...
Oh, there's another thing.. the way it's designed it's easy to put the cutting grid on with only the top left feet in the fixture....
