[Lab] laser not working

I had tried turning the machine off, waiting, then back on, and it didn't help.
I also tried pressing only "Go" after setting the home position with x/y off, which according to the manual should over-ride the factory configuration home setting. The carriage moved to what appeared to be the same position as when pressing "Go" then "reset".
Hopefully it's as simple as a loose connection!
