Power depends on the acrylic thickness and type. You can figure that out on
a small test piece in a few minutes.
Use methylene chloride as weld (not glue).
Get acrylic at cannus plastics. They and others listed here:
http://inventorartist.com/resources/
For tolerance it depends on what the box if for and how you will join the
pieces.
