It looks like Autodesk went a little maker-crazy and designed a free
software tool specifically for us! It's based off of Autodesk Inventor and
looks to have a lot of surface modeling components to it in addition to
solid modeling ability. It also has resources for acquiring community-made
models, and services for 3D printing or lasercutting your models - it looks
like they might even have a part of the program devoted to doing things like
cut your model up to be assembled out of lasercut pieces. But.. I infer this
from the picture on their splash page.

I'd like to sit down with it and get comfortable, and maybe teach a class at
the Asylum in it.
