No, only one workshop has had Ruby in its curriculum (the one in December 
2004 at University of Ottawa), and we had to skip that part anyway, 
because we needed to concentrate on other topics.

I have not documented that part of GridFlow because I supposed that it was 
going to change much again. In the end it hasn't changed so much in the 
last few years, but I just (this month) made a decision to get rid of Ruby 
and replace it by something else, most likely Tcl. I should have made that 
change last year instead, as Ruby makes GridFlow crash much more often 
than I can tolerate and I can't seem to be able to fix it.

If you are a C++ programmer, you might be interested in reading 
gridflow/bridge/puredata.c; if not, then I will answer your questions 
about the current system, but I'm more interested in building the 
replacement for it as soon as possible; we have a GridFlow developers 
meeting next week about this topic.
