Forty-five wooden laths, glued face-to-face, pegged and sanded smooth into a 2"-thick undulating slab. It tricks you; it's weighty, like Egyptian sandstone, but the surface, seen through golden clear beeswax, evokes the papyrus of the third century BC original."
