Some rt features have been integrated in ordinary kernels for a while,
thus you less often need a special kernel.

The -rt is just a suggestion. It's also possible to use the -audiobuf
option to set the delay (or set it in the Audio Settings dialogue). You
can use one or the other or both or neither. It depends on what works for
you. The most important thing is that the audio/video separation into two
instances of pd makes it possible to render more audio while in the middle
of rendering a video frame, and is what makes the most difference.

If you're fine with a large latency, you could also run everything in the
same process with a large enough -audiobuf.
