Hey Lab List,
The *Ottawa Makers and Mentors Innovation Conference *hosted by
uOttawa's Engineering department are looking for local makers to present
talks about their projects and research Oct 27-29.

I presented last year and had a pretty great experience. The audience
was small but receptive, so it would be a great starting place for any of
you who'd like to try public speaking but are a bit timid about huge
audiences.
They have a few suggested topics on their site, but it's a very rough
guideline - they're really keen on having anyone who's learned something
interesting over the course of a project and wants to talk about their
process and discoveries.
Also worth considering attending as an audience member. Last year
featured some excellent talks, including a tour of African Makerspaces and
a Makermobile outreach project with indigenous youth.
