Sorry, I was looking around for what references we had, but that was
several years ago and several hard drives ago!

Macoun Marsh is actually a United Nations recognized biodiversity site,
story here:

http://www.biodiversitymatters.org/macoun_marsh.html

I was working at the board office at the time (07-08), helping organize the
outdoor classroom build, but the real instigator was teacher
Michel Léveillé, who was an amazing teacher at the now defunct St. Lawrence
Academy on St. Laurent. His elementary students identified about 1000
species in the little bog at Beechwood and won awards. I lost touch with
Michel, not sure where he ended up. Some contact info on the 2nd website.
