Hi,
Merry Christmas to everyone!

Here are a few things for you to create with over the holidays.

http://boxmaker.rahulbotics.com/
I've used this to make some laser cut boxes with 3mm baltic birch plywood. Using a thickness of .128 inches (measured with a caliper) and a cut width of .005" (set it under "Advanced Options") the boxes snapped together. Taking them apart caused some chipping, so once a test box is good, glue your final boxes as you assemble them for the first time. You can load a power/speed/frequency profile under "jw bb 1-8 xxx". There is a profile for 24x6" pieces and one for 24x12". Ignore the profile for 1/4" (6mm) BB as it is not finished.
You can of course use the box maker program with hardboard, matboard, acrylic or whatever, but may have to adjust the cut thickness to get a suitable fit.

And once the box is done, check out this site for public domain drop caps, borders, cartouches, and other old style art for engraving:

See you in 2013,
John
