I thought this could interest some of you:

"Gentlemen and gentle ladies, we invite you to step into the 19th century to celebrate a Victorian holiday packed with revolutionary technologies from the era. Discover inventions that changed the world.
Take part in hands-on activities by becoming a Victorian scientist or telegraph operator. Be dazzled by an illusionist or learn how medicine was practiced more than a century ago. Walk in the footsteps of famous sleuth Sherlock Holmes as you attempt to solve
the mystery of the disappearing artifact. A unique experience for the whole family!"

If the Museum event itself wasn't enticing enough, Catherine Emond, Education and Interpretation Officer for the Museum has asked Steampunk Ottawa and Canada members to help to make this even more special. She is looking for steampunks to put together some
special workshops and displays - in particular we would like to set up a table of gadgets! Makers, this is your chance to show off your incredible devices!

To volunteer and/or to discuss possible workshops and displays please contact Catherine at cemond at technomuses.ca
There is also a facebook event entitled “A Victorian Holiday: Science of Yesteryear”
