[Gridflow-dev] webcam woes

Hello,

I am getting the following error when trying to open a /dev/videoX (a
logitech webcam in this case).

error: ArgumentError: got Symbol instead of Symbol in
FormatVideoDev::initialize(Symbol mode, String filename, Symbol
option)
format/videodev.c.fcs:751:in `static Ruby

error: NameError: undefined method "send_in" for nil in class NilClass

this is gf checked out from cvs on May 22, 2007 which identifies
itself as follows:

[gf] This is GridFlow 0.9.0 within Ruby version 1.8.5-2006-08-25
[gf] base/main.c was compiled on May 22 2007, 23:06:12
[gf] LTI support not found (no such file to load -- basedata)

this occurs on a Ubuntu Feisty,
