BTW supposing that you're using Ruby from the CVS and you're getting 
really *strange* errors from ./configure, especially at the very end of 
its normal operation, then chances are that you just hit a new bug and 
that you should cvs update -D2006-01-01 ruby in order to get back to a 
working version.
