The Wheel

2009
16mm colour
2.50 minutes
Silent
Exhibition format: 16mm & video

Synopsis: Inspired by the still life, the film consists of two scenes: A mother breastfeeds her child. A woman peels an orange. The Wheel has screened as a looping installation and also as a single channel video.

Reviews: “… each scene is relatively static and does not involve specially dramatic events. In this situation, the audience tends to engage itself in symptomatic contemplation of the scenes. One can, for example, think about what aspect of our society or culture the image of a mother breast-feeding is representing and how it does so.”
