<div dir="ltr">Hi Alexander - is your system a desktop or laptop?<div>Assuming it's a desktop, have you opened it up and cleaned/vacuumed the heatsinks/fans for the CPU and GPU's as well as all of the chassis and P/S fans and air vents? Usually if this is a slowing evolving issue, dust and poor circulation through the chassis are the culprits. If so, a good internal vacuuming should help. Cooling the room won't help much if the internal chassis circulation (especially over the heat sinks) is bad. Also make sure your heatsink fans are actually working and the firmware has them on. ie. not in silent mode. Chassis fans often have switches on them or their cords that allow you to change the speed - ensure they are on full.</div>
<div>Additionally, you could modify your system power settings to use econo modes which may slow the rendering but allow the system to operate at a lower temperature.</div><div><br></div><div>Hope that helps!</div><div>Jeff</div>

I've been able to render video on my computer (as well it should with my specs!) but over the last month or two I've been having problems. For some reason either the thermal shutdown or the hardware temperature monitor trips and the system locks up or reboots partway through video rendering. I've been trying to fix this problem for a while. The workaround that was working before was to open my window and let the whole room cool down to the icy winter temps, but even now that doesn't help.</div>
<div><br></div><div>All this to say -- does anyone have a computer that is capable of rendering HD video? It's only 720p, and if you don't have editing software I can bring my own. I literally would only need half an hour or less. I'm really in a jam or I wouldn't ask for help.</div>
