<div>Hi Strake and Jim!</div>
<div>Thanks for the reply.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Strake - The switching freq for an Arduino PWM signal is about 500 MHz.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Jim - The idea of using cat5 (or 6) is very appealing as I have a lot of it and it's cheap from Monoprice :) I have four conductors to worry about - a +12 V line and three PWM grounds. To take advantage of the twisted pair in the cat 5 would I put a +12 line and ground together? In effect use 3 twisted pair, 3 +12V and 3 PWM grounds?</div>
<div> </div>
<div>On paper I am seeing I could be pushing 2.5 amps but I don't think this is the case in reality as the PWM makes it much less - I will measure this tonight.</div>
<div> </div>
<div>Any other thoughts?<br>Thanks again!</div>

<p dir="ltr">Hi Modlabers,<br>I was wondering if anyone here has experience with or knows if I need a special / shielded cable to run a 12V PWM signal about 20 - 30 feet. It will be driving an LED strip (2m of RGB 5050's). I have not done this before and was wondering if I could get away with something cheap like 4 conductor telephone cable or if that will cause enough signal degradation that it could mess with the colours. The LED driving circuitry can't be closer, so that isn't an option.<br>
Any info would be great!<br>Thanks,<br>Kirk</p></div></div></blockquote></div></div>
