My girlfriend isn't hearing impaired, but when she sleeps, she'd dead to the world and her alarm will go for minutes before she wakes up. I've found a few nudges with the elbow works just fine, but they're not always well received. An alternative to vibration could be air currents. A fan or blow dryer on a timer at the outlet, and then aimed at her head might work here, although it wouldn't work for the door bell.

> Date: Sun, 18 Nov 2012 19:54:15 -0500
> From: jeanmarc.leblanc@gmail.com
> To: edgecity@rogers.com
> CC: Lab@artengine.ca
> Subject: Re: [Lab] Looking for ideas
>
> That's what I do when I don't want to wake up my wife when I leave early
>
>
> On 11/18/12, nfk <edgecity@rogers.com> wrote:
> > has she tried using a cell phone alarm on vibrate and sleeping with it under
> > the pillow?
> >
> > On 2012-11-17, at 10:48 PM, Richard Guy Briggs wrote:
> >
> >> On Sat, Nov 17, 2012 at 06:42:26PM -0500, Bruce Harding wrote:
> >>> I've re-thought that, and I think something that would fit on her side of
> >>> the
> >>> bed near her head or under pillow would be better for me. :-) I was
> >>> thinking
> >>> of using an old electric toothbrush motor similar in a way to the
> >>> suggestion
> >>> from other person that replied.
> >>
> >> So just hook the alarm clock output to the toothbrush motor.
