Hi Michael<div><br></div><div>I've been watching this closely. I have both personal and professional interest in this board as, for the power it provides it is cheaper than just a comparably powerful chip.</div><div><br>
</div><div>Here's the rub though: Did you know that you cannot buy that processor yourself? Broadcom only sells it to their partners who sell millions of units. The datasheet isn't public either, and the kernel will be binary only.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I'm really glad the pi is materializing, but I wish I (or my work) could get their hands on these chips as well. Frustrating.</div><div><br></div><div>Tom<br><br><div class="gmail_quote">On Thu, Jan 19, 2012 at 10:08 AM, Michael Lechasseur <span dir="ltr"><<a href="mailto:mlecha@artengine.ca">mlecha@artengine.ca</a>></span> wrote:<br>

The computer has hardware video decoding on board. "The GPU is capable of BluRay quality playback, using H.264 at 40MBits/s."<br>
<br>
Powered by a 5V microUSB so should be real good on power for an always on device.<br>
<br>
Saw another video demoing XBMC (Xbox Media Center) on the device.<br>
<br>
Should be for sale in a week or two.<br>
