I've also seen PCB copper raster cut with a laser, but it requires a
lot of power....<br>

If you want to push the power of the laser I think one would
need to do something wacky , like sending pure oxygen in to
get the heat high enough to start burning metal.<br>

There is a group that has made a modification to the air
assist system. They channel the air and the laser through a
gap to try and get more cutting power.<br>

I haven't seen a need myself for this, but I may look into
it in the future If I find I'm doing a lot of cutting. It
does open the road to potential hacking in the future,
definitely if you start mixing gases.

metal. The best one can do is to coat the
board in black spraypaint, remove it with
the laser and use it as a resist.<br>

We should try some copper clad board
to see if we can cut a PCB with the
laser... I've seen some people with
fantastic success, and that laser is
so fine that we could get some
really accurate PCB traces with it.
