[Lab] panorama images

I've been fooling around with a drone (
http://inventorartist.com/video-drone/) and I've been wanting to stitch
images together to make panoramas.

Anybody know about that?

I've been using GIMP which is great for simple stuff but I think for
panoramas I have to apply transforms to the images. I'm supposing the
software will do it but has anybody had any luck stitching stuff together
with GIMP or any other software?
