This situation is absolutely fascinating.

Five is a rather large team... but whatever structure they had has probably
been outgrown by the company...

I wanted to suggest founderitis initially but character might be a bigger
factor...

People going their own ways is not uncommon and of course people will
negotiate about ownership of assets. The way Banzi puts it Martino might a
bit of a flake. One could argue that we haven't heard Martino's side but we
can see it by reading the "About Arduino" and contact page on the .org
site. It seems to leave out the existence of Arduino as we've known it for
quite some time. Also with Martino's actions such as to try and invalidate
the trademark I think it could be a character issue...
