iDistracto! That's hilarious.
I was debating if I should extend the lower tray a bit since there's
nothing under the keyboard tray... Also am thinking of another tray
underneath the keyboard for parts but folding down might be interesting.
As it stands the bill of materials is pretty simple (2 wheels, 24' of 2x4,
30' of 1x4 and a pile of drywall screws)...Plus all cuts are 90 degrees
except the two cross members... I guess with your suggestion it adds a
radius cut, some bolts and I'm still thinking of a way to make the fold out
rigid enough to act as handles when moving the machine... With all the
stuff it's going to be fairly heavy.
Another suggestion was to have the keyboard plane plexiglass so you can see
the monitor through it... I think that's a pretty good idea. Then both the
keyboard and monitor could easily be pushed for and aft to different
Also to increase the space for tools that are in use (measuring stuff,
fixturing, chuck tools and stuff). What I do is just leave that junk lying
around on the bed or in the mouse space... but a small ledge along the side
of the machine might be nice. Depending on the size of the vacuum that
comes forward (and the resulting vacuum box) the width of the cart may need
to be increased anyway. Or if we're lucky the vacuum is quiet and doesn't
need a box.
Locking wheels came up too. I already got the wheels so I was thinking if
that is an actual problem just throw a block under the frame at the wheel
end when it's parked.
