[Lab] small newspaper article

I've been asked do a small DIY article for kids for a small paper. It's to
be 2 pages, 4 pictures about 500 words.

I was thinking of doing it on some sort of newsprint walkalong glider (like
this http://inventorartist.com/tumbing-wing-with-news-print/)

Any other ideas for kids? Electronics? Some other kind of construction?
Anybody have kids to test this stuff on? :)
