Interesting ideas.  It may be good enough to just slip between the mattress and box spring.  A bit of experimentation is in order to prevent launching her from the bed when it goes off.....

That's a nifty idea!  A friend of mine used a pair of that type of transducers
on the inside of this, hooked up to a small amplifier:

It sounded better than I expected!

Reminds me of those "pillow speakers" you could get at Radio Shack in the
mid-70s.
