Kickstarter still isn't an option for us Canadians wanting to launch a project. There's a dependency on Amazon Payments which is US-only: http://www.kickstarter.com/help/faq#DoIHaveToBeUsbToStarAProj

Also worth noting that all branches are open for applicants to apply to and have a better shot at getting funded- www.awesomefoundation.org and on the Apply page you can select all chapters. If anyone would like to start a project on Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com- it's pretty big in the states now) email me and I'll send you a creator invite!

This summer they awarded a grant to a duo from Montréal who are working on creating a plant-based installation on the Arts Court grounds.

It would be great to see some of the great projects from some of the Mod Lab get a little needed boost from the Foundation. The fund favours assisting with expenses needed for materials, but in my discussion with one of the trustees we also talked about the role funds can play for artists who need to hire technicians to have something completed for them.
