Colour Fields - Solo Show by Linda Wilson

Colour Fields - Linda Wilson
August 30 - September 30 2019 at Good Eats 473 Albert St., Ottawa
Vernissage Setember 12, 2019 5 - 8 pm

ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Colour. Pure and Simple. Complex and nuanced. Joyous. Contemplative. Delicate. Reflecting emotions, experiences, the subconscious. Because ultimately, colour is everything.

I paint in oil because it provides the most luminous colour of all paints. Working on translucent drafting film, I build each work in transparent layers, which allows me to explore and examine colour – it’s nuances and subtleties, how it combines, separates, flows and blankets the film.

While her main love is painting, she also sews, sculpts, makes jewellery, knits, embroiders, gardens and does anything else that allows her to play with colour.

Her work has been shown in two group painting shows, both at La Nouvelle Scene, Ottawa, and a group polymer clay sculpture show at Spinning Plate Gallery in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This is her first solo show.
