Re[place] Re[collect]

Re[place] Re[collect] October 22nd

A neighbourhood is stitched together with stories. As part of the Canada 150th celebrations, Re[place] Re[collect] archives stories and experiences of seniors in Ottawa’s rural neighbourhoods.

NEIGHBOURHOOD ARTS 150 – Celebrating Ottawa’s Communities is supported by Funders: Government of Canada, Ontario 150; and Partners: Ottawa 2017, Community Foundation of Ottawa, Metroland Media, Trinity Development Foundation, the Danbe Foundation and Jewel 98.5 FM, and many community partners.

Thanks to the Neighbourhood Arts 150 - L'Art des quartiers 150 project from AOE Arts Council | Conseil des arts AOE, Brenda Dunn (Art in Jest) and Shawn MacDonell (Creativision) have been travelling to rural neighbourhoods around Ottawa, speaking to seniors about their memories. Their stories and photos have been brought together in a book titled Re[place] Re[collect].

A limited run of these commemorative books will be given away during the book launch on October 22nd, to be held from 3-6pm at the Orleans Legion Branch 632 at 800 Taylor Creek Drive, Orleans. Many of our storytellers will be in attendance. Join us for live music and snacks. Register to attend on Eventbrite.?

A preview of these stories and photos can been found at
(Best viewed on desktop or tablet for the full experience!)?

Come out on Oct 22nd and hear the stories and share what we remember. Receive a copy of Re[place] Re[collect] and keep a small piece of the #Ottawa2017 celebrations.
