Mathieu Latreille, born in Gatineau, is a Canadian choirmaster and organist. He holds a Diplôme d’Études en Musique I ( Gatineau Conservatory of Music,
2005), a Diplôme d’Études Supérieures en Musique II ( Montreal Conservatory of Music, 2007) and a “Certificat de Stage de Perfectionnement en
Musique” ( MCM, 2008).
In 2005, Mathieu was awarded the ‘Prix du lieutenant-gouverneur du Québec. At the MCM in 2007, he was awarded the ‘Prix avec Grande Distinction à l’unanimité du Jury. In 2008, He was the first Quebecer to perform the complete organ works of Maurice Duruflé in one single concert.
The Program on May 26th, will feature a variety of works by composers of the Grande École d’orgue française including C-M Widor, André Fleury, Marcel Dupré, Charles Tournemire, Nadia Boulanger, Maurice Duruflé and Jehan Alain.
The Recital is co-sponsored through a generous grant from the Godfrey Hewitt Memorial Fund.
