Bien - Bear Mask, wood carving |
Robert Bien
works in the West Coast Native tradition of mask making and is currently
studying at the school of Pacific Northwest Coast Native Indian Art and
Culture at ‘Ksan in Hazelton, British Columbia. Among his masks are the
bear, beaver and human. Coming from the Champagne-Aishihik First Nations,
he carries on the tradition of carving as a way to stay connected with
the land and its inhabitants.
