Meshell Melvin lives in a small house
in the woods near Atlin with her two little boys and their pets. It’s a
lively household and space is tight. In the kitchen, jars and dishes are
stacked up and jammed into shelves and cupboards. Her work, “Kitchen Corner”
brings the viewer into Melvin’s domestic and emotional space. To make her
fabric paintings, Melvin sews together textiles of many textures, patterns
and colours.
